PLATE 11: HARVESTING HONEY NEAR ST.ANN’S, BRAUNTON BURROWS. Once the honey was discovered, Bindon-Bhore’s wife Catherine was sent out to take charge of the harvest. However, Peter’s hopes that the expedition’s focus might soon return to gliding were dashed when she showed a far greater interest in sampling the harvest than in collecting it. In fact, Peter even began to wonder whether gliding had ever been the actual purpose of the expedition.
